Q1 (60 points). Part of a crane (E=210 GPa) is presented in figure 1. This part includes thick (200 cm²) and thin (100 cm²) sections. The thick and thin sections each are going to have 2 equal size elements. Using FEM, and two points Gauss integration, find: a) The maximum load at the fixed support. b) The displacements on all the nodes. c) The internal force in each element. d) Strain in each element. e) Stress in each element. f) Plot the displacement, stress and strain of the geometry as a function of the distance from the fixed support. Note: All the necessary matrices must be extracted. 60 m 30 m 150 kN 2 1 3 Figure 1 200 kN 4 50
