A utility scale PV array has 180 parallel strings, with each string comprising of 45 solar panels in series. The PV array is interfaced to the 3-phase, 480 V grid by a buck-boost converter (with MPPT) and a 3-phase bridge inverter. Assume efficiency of each power conversion stage to be 96%. The panel voltage at maximum power point (MPP) during any insolation can be assumed to be 44 V. The MPP current at 800WW/m² solar insolation is 12 A and it varies proportionally with the insolation. i. Assume that 5 panels each in 60 out of the 180 parallel strings are partially shaded to receive only 600 W/m² insolation. If dc/dc power optimizers are used for individual solar panel, what is the power delivered to the grid? Assume that the power optimizers are lossless ii. If the inverter is modulated using SPWM scheme, determine the modulation index after the shading. Assume that the buck-boost converter duty ratio is maintained at 0.6 all the time.
