Using the equations from the notes, design a square column to resist the factored axial load due to DL = 150 kips and LL = 100 kips (service loads). Assume short column behavior with no bending. Use a target reinforcement ratio pg of 0.02, f'c = 4000 psi and fy = 60 ksi. Draw a cross-section of the column, labeling the section dimensions, cover, and bar sizes. Include the longitudinal and transverse reinforcement layout and spacing.
