A drainage basin for a culvert has six contributing areas as
shown in the figure below.
Runoff from each area collects at a central drainage ditch which
conveys flow to the
culvert (i.e., flow path from Area A goes from Area A to Point 1,
Point 1 to Point 2, and
from Point 2 to the culvert). The table below indicates the
overland flow times for the
drainage basin. For a 25-year design storm, what design rainfall
intensity (in/hr) should
be used at the culvert (IDF curve for the basin provided
below):
