A cantilever graphene column has a stress-strain relationship shown in Eqn.1. The
section of the column is shown in Fig. 4. The length of the column is 5 mm and buckling in
the weak (z) axis is fully prevented. It is required to:
(1) Calculate the critical buckling force (Ncr) for the column using the tangential
modulus theory.
(2) Why does the tangential modulus theory typically underestimate the critical buckling
load? What is the solution for this issue?
