A single wire of length L = 2.5 m is parallel to a ground plane
and 10 cm above it. The wire carries a sinusoidal current with
amplitude I1 = 17 mA at the frequency f = 400 MHz. An antenna is
oriented parallel to the wire, located at a distance d from the
ground plane, and is connected to a spectrum analyzer. You are
asked to:
• Sketch the system
• Compute the maximum radiated field at a distance d = 10 m away
from the ground plane
• Assuming an antenna factor of 17 dBm−1 , compute the voltage
read by the spectrum analyzer
