30) As a marketing consultant you are tasked to compile
marketing proposal of 400 – 650 words for the new business,
ShopriteX of the Shoprite Group. Include the following in your
report:  Introduction  Body a) Compile a market
segmentation for ShopriteX. b) Determine how the
ShopriteX customer base should be targeted according to the
segmentation your compiled. c) Explain which market
position ShopriteX should take considering your recommended
segmentation and targeting.  Conclusion
You are required to conduct additional research and use at least 2
source excluding your prescribed textbook, to compile this
proposal. Use theory to guide your writing and relevant examples to
substantiate discussions.

adequately substantiated with theoretical content. 
Although it is evident that the student used additional readings,
it was not done extensively enough to substantiate points and could
be improved upon.  The student made
well‐established points on arguments made in relation to the theory

management has evolved over the years and is continuously adapting.
The Shoprite Group is at the forefront of innovation, and they are
embracing change. Q.3.1 Identify principles of
operation management and explain how ShopriteX Operation team
applied them. Note: you are required to provide 2
application point/examples per principle discussed.

strategic operations management decisions in their new business
model. Explain these decisions within the context of ShopriteX (15)

20) The Transportation of goods is part of the logistical
activities of an organisation. Big retailers rely on keeping costs
low and providing goods on time. Which transportation method should
Shoprite consider providing them with Produce for their retail
stores? Explain the advantages and disadvantages of Rail, Road and
Air. And then recommend a transportation method you find suitable
for Shoprite.
