African Americans, persons 51 years or older, and anyone with hypertension, diabetes, or chronic kidney disease should reduce sodium intake to 250 mg/day : 150 mg/day 2300 mg/day : 1500 mg/day 2000 mg/day: 1000 mg/day both recommendations are 2300 mg/day
