Hello, I am writing a Business/Managerial report and my
professor doesn't give any examples to help with my report. Can you
help me out? There are two sections to my question. First, the
company summary of the business listed below should be about a
single page long, followed by two body sections that should be
1.5/2 pages long each. The company that I chose is the Hawaii
Department of Transportation, and the links to use to gather this
information are below. Also below the links is the list of items
that the body of the report must include. Also, you should only
need to use 2-3 of the links listed as its one link per body
section. This would be a huge help for me as it would give me a
much better idea of my formatting and layout for the 20-page report
that I am writing.

The body of the report must include:
1. A brief informational summary of the company you are examining,
the range of audiences with whom they communicate, the various
purposes for such communications, and the different channels
through which these messages are transmitted. Do not cut and paste
the company’s “About” information. Describe in a sentence or two
what the organization does then spend the rest of the summary
discussing its audiences and communication practices.
2. Detailed analysis of each of the five selected documents based
on the main business writing concepts and skills covered this
semester (including but not limited to criteria for effective
messages; audience focus; positive emphasis; tone, power and
politeness; non-biased language; using audience analysis to adapt
messages; identifying and developing audience benefits; patterns
for internal and external positive/informative, negative and
persuasive messages). All observations and judgments must
be supported by specific examples from the document that is being
examined. Each item should be identified by format (memo,
letter, email, email memo), audience (external, internal superior,
internal peer or subordinate), message type (informative, positive,
negative, persuasive) and, if applicable, message pattern
(positive, negative, sales, etc).
