4. Jessie is standing on a cliff 17.5 meters above the surface of the water. As she dives into the water, she doesn't rotate her body, so that she enters the water feet first. Therefore, she leaves the top of the cliff traveling almost straight up, at a speed of 3.45 m/s. Jessie has a mass of 45.3 kg, and we can neglect air resistance. Solve this problem using energy methods. a) (3 pts) Draw a diagram showing Jessie's path as she dives off the cliff and into the water. Indicate on your diagram her Kinetic and Gravitational Potential Energy at three points: when she leaves the cliff, at her highest point, and when her feet hit the water. b) (3 pts) How far above the surface of the water is Jessie when she reaches her highest point? c) (3 pts) What is Jessie's speed when her feet hit the surface of the water?
