Somewhat surprisingly, this NAS reaction occurs faster when fluorine is substituted for than when chlorine is substituted for OH Өон e х X=F is faster than X = CI NOZ NO2 Explain why this is so. Show the mechanism of the reaction. Consider which step of the mechanism is the slow (rate-determining) step of the mechanism and how that can be used to explain the trend with the halogen groups noted above. (5 pts).
