15. Two slits are separated by 0.012 mm. When monochromatic light passes through the slits an interference pattern is observed on a distant screen. Eleven interference maxima lie within the central diffraction maximum, as shown. On either side of the central eleven, there is a gap in the pattern where an interference maximum coincides with the first diffraction minimum, as shown in the figure. The width of the slits is: (a) 0.010 mm (b) 0.0022 mm (c) 0.0020 mm (d) 0.0018 mm (e) 0.0010 mm
