Write an 8 measure melody on staff paper in treble clef. Select
a time signature (3/4 or 4/4). Select a major key signature -
either C Major (no flats or sharps) or G Major (1 sharp)
Your melody (which is due Monday) will be written only in treble
clef. The first and last note of the melody should be the tonic of
your key signature. Ex. If you write in the key of C Major – your
first and last note should be C (C4 or C5). Ex. If you write in the
key of G Major – your first and last note should be G (G4 or G5)
You should have a combination (and include each of the following)
of note rhythmic values: whole note if in 4/4 or dotted half note
if in 3/4 (only 1 of these), half note, quarter note, 8th notes,
and at least one set of 16th notes in the melody.
