administration set that delivers 20 drops/ml. On your first day
you are preparing for rounds. Your first patient is Mr. Jones a
65 year old male (110 kg) who is status post coronary artery
bypass grafting. The patient is receiving norepinephrine at 25
drops/min and propofol at 10 drops/min. You must calculate
the dose in terms that you understand to improve your
recommendations to the team. The standard concentrations are
norepinephrine 4 mg in D5W 250 ml and propofol 1000 mg in 100
ml.
What dose of propofol is this patient receiving in mg/kg/hr?
