The velocity profile in laminar boundary layers over a flat plate can be approximated by u = a + by + cy2.
(1) Determine unknown coefficients a, b, and c in terms of the boundary layer thickness δ by imposing proper boundary conditions.
(2) Find θ/δ and δ*/δ where θ momentum thickness and δ* displacement thickness.
(3) Find δ/x and cf = 2τw / (ρU2) in terms of the local Reynolds number Rnx = Ux/ν where τw is the wall shear stress.
