1. Consider a spherical fuel element in a pebble bed reactor. Assume that the fuel element is hollow inside (0 <r <R/2) and the outer layer consists of two composite materials (R/2 <rSR). The outer layer contains the fuel with a constant uniform source of SO n/(cm'-s). For simplicity assume vacuum outside the fuel element and solve the steady state one-speed diffusion equation to find the flux in the outer fuel layer of the fuel element.
