6. [6 points total] A student looks into a plane (flat) mirror, as shown in Figures I and II below. h h Figure 1 Figure II a) [1 point] On Figure I, indicate the point on the mirror where the student should look to see the top of their forehead. Draw a light ray from the top of their forehead that reflects from the mirror to their eye, with arrowheads to indicate direction. Label the point on the mirror "T." Explain briefly. b) [0.5 points] On Figure I, indicate the point on the mirror where the student should look to see the bottom of their chin. Draw a light ray from the bottom of their chin that reflects from the mirror to their eye, with arrowheads to indicate direction. Label the point on the mirror "B." c) [1.5 points] The height of the student's face is h. Is the distance between points T and B in Figure I larger than, smaller than or equal to h? If it is larger or smaller than h, by how much? Explain d) [1 point] The student moves back so their distance from the mirror is twice as great, as shown in Figure II. On this figure, mark points "T" and "B" and draw rays as before. e) [2 points] Is the distance between points T and B in Figure II larger than, smaller than, or equal to the distance between points T and B in Figure I? Based on this, what is the smallest mirror the student could use to see their entire face at once? Does it matter how far from the mirror they stand? Explain.
