Question 3 (4 marks): Consider two signals a1,3,5,7,9 a=0,2,4,6,8 6-4 osusin In osis 5를 () $(1) O 0 otherwise 0 otherwise Signals {-4 sist 좋 5.) 4 (1) = 3T SIST 2 0 otherwise 0 otherwise In a binary digital comunications the signals (t) transmitted for bit I while the signal sz(t) is transmitted for bit 0. The transmitted signal is distorted by AWGN with the zero mean and variance N/2. Then, the received signal is expressed by x(t)=s(t)+w(t) where x(t) is the received signal, s(t) is the transmitted signal and w(t) is noise. Assume that the probability of bit 1 is the same as that of bit 0 a) Sketch the transmitted signals for binary data 1010010101. b) Plot the diagram of this digital communication system in which the receiver exploits the maximum likelihood detection. Plot the constellation diagram and derive the bit error rate of the system.
