2. An 8mm diameter steel cable is fixed at the top end and attached at the bottom end to the mass as shown in Figure 2. The density and Young's Modulus of the steel cable are 7950kg/m2 and 209GPa, respectively. MASS Figure 2 a. Determine the length (L) of the cable if the allowable stress of the steel is 820 MPa and the weight of the mass is 2000 kg. (7.5 Marks) (CO2) b.
