Thermodynamics
ABC Plantation has a steam power plant that is operating on an ideal reheat Rankine cycle. Superheated steam at 15 MPa and 600°C is available at a rate of 70 kg/s. The steam enters the high pressure turbine, and after expanding, leaves the turbine at 3 MPa. The steam is then reheated at constant pressure to 500°C before it expands to 20 kPa in the low pressure turbine. Evaluate if this cycle can satisfy the requirements for a power output of 100 MW at a cycle efficiency of not less than 38%. Justify your answer with relevant calculations. (25 marks)
