Question 2. Counter flow. (30 marks) A counterflow, concentric tube heat exchanger is used Oil to cool the lubricating oil for a large industrial gas turbine engine. The tube length is L = 50m. The flow D Water rate of cooling water through the inner tube (D; = 22 mm) is 10 litre per minute, while the flow rate of oil through the outer annulus (D. = 40 mm) is 5 litre per minute. The oil and water enter at temperatures of 90 and 25°C, respectively. Calculate the overall heat transfer coefficient U if the outlet temperature of the oil is to be 60°C.
