the lake). The overall efficiency of the motor-pump unit is 75% and
the motor consumes electricity at a rate of 4.2 kW. If the
irreversible head loss in the piping is 8 m, find(i) the rate of
energy loss in the piping (in unit of W), and (ii) the velocity of
the water at the pipe outlet at the hilltop.
