The single-phase equivalent circuit parameters of a 3-phase star-connected asynchronous motor are given below.
Total mechanical and friction losses will be neglected.
rated power = 6kW
rated voltage = 400 Vrms line (231Vrms phase-neutral voltage)
rated frequency = 50 Hz
number of poles = 4
r1= 1.2 Ω, x1 = 1.1jΩ r2= 0.6Ω, x2 = 0.8jΩ xm= 11.7jΩ rc= ∞
Working status at rated point:
Analyzing the SHIFT AT RATING POINT of this motor fed from an AC voltage source,
i) Solve using the T-equivalent circuit. Get the quadratic equation by writing the output power equation. What are the coefficients of your function (A, B and C) in terms of motor parameters ?
ii) Solve it using the simplified equivalent circuit. By writing the output power equation, what are the coefficients of the quadratic function (A, B and C) in terms of motor parameters ?
