Design the shear reinforcement for the section described from the midterm. The beam width, b, is 12 in, and the total height, h, is 26 in. Assume a cover distance of 1.75-in. (i.e. distance from the bottom/top face of the beam to the center of the shear reinforcement/stirrup). The section should be designed to carry a distributed service dead load of 2.50 kips/ft, including the self-weight of the beam, and a distributed live load of 2.50 kips/ft. The beam is 18 ft. long (span length), simple span. Use #4 stirrups. Assume f.' = 3,000 psi and fy = 60,000 psi. (35 pts.)
