A 10-m by 20-m mudmat foundation will be placed on the seabed. The submerged unit weight of the seafloor soil is 6.5 kN/m². The upper 5m of the deposit has a uniform pre- consolidation stress o'p = 32.5 kPa. Below 5 m, the soil is normally consolidated. The compression and swell indices are Cc=0.5 and Cs=0.05.
