Why workability is improved?
a) Due to morphology of ground GBFS particles.
Both PC and GBFS particles are angular. However, GBFSparticles have
smoother surface texture. This results in;
. Less friction,
. Less water requirement to wet all surfaces of GBFS.
b) Due to relative density of GBFS
PC has about 3,1 gr/cm3
density. Whereas, GBFS has about
2,9. Weight basis replacement gives rise to more volume of
cementitious material in the system …….. more paste
