Solve the following question according to AS3600-2018.
For the reinforced concrete T beam shown in the Figure below, at
the ultimate limit state, M*=530 kNm. For this beam f'c = 32 MPa,
Ec = 30,100 MPa, and fsy = 500 MPa.
a) Calculate the value of Mu for this beam and determine of
ΦMu
b) Modify the cross-section so that ΦMu increases by
approximately 20%. Verify your new design for both strength and
ductility.
