The overall purpose of this project is for each group to
research a topic relevant to the training field, design and develop
an active training program.
Design and Develop the Training Session (70
pts)
You will respond to each of these questions in a word
document and submit via Canvas.
1) Provide 2-3 learning objectives for your training
session
By the end of this training session you will be able to
understand industrial safety
You will perform at a higher rate of
productivity
You will be informed and understand technological
updates
2) Explain how you will use Adult Learning Theory OR 1
other learning theory (revisit Chapter 3) to inform the
design and development of your training session.
To inform the design and development of our training
session, we will ask students about something that they’ve done in
their jobs in the past year in terms of productivity that has
benefited their company (not final)
The company is looking for employees to show performance
improvement after the learning session, incentives
involved?
-pay increase incentive for scoring a 85 or above on the
rating exercise
-the immediate value of the training is being able to
perform their job better through understanding the new technology
in which they will get hands on experience with
-with this training adults will be able to improve their
performance report and reap promotional or pay benefits from
it.
-the training will include tasks such as technology
demos and timed assessments to ultimately get more work done in
less time while still being quality work
3) Explain how the research your group did (in your
annotated bibliography) informs your training
topic/session.
Our research in our annotated bibliography informs our
training topic in which …
4) Use Gagne's first 7 steps of instructional design to
design and develop your training session. You will develop material
for both the activity to get learners attention (a) AND one active
learning technique (d).
a) Design and describe an activity for how you will get
learners attention (find an icebreaker and explain
it).
Break the ice by playing two truths and a lie in groups
of 3-4, each participant will have to tell two facts that are true,
and one thing that isn’t true, and then each participant will have
to guess which is which.
b) Describe how you will inform the learners of the
objectives.
On a slide at the beginning of our powerpoint. The
instructor will go over the slides and explain each of the learning
objectives.
c) Explain how you will stimulate recall of prior
learning.
Ask them what the objects were.
d) Design and develop the content/material by:
explaining how you would present the material
(powerpoint, face-to-face, video, etc.)
Powerpoint and hands on training with coaching that has
been certified.
develop one active learning technique that is
interactive, hands-on learning. Include a detailed description of
the activity including step-by-step details and
instructions.
Will be a trainer that will show everything step by step
and they will get training for a month.
e) Explain how you will provide learning
guidance.
By asking questions to keep the group involved/ see if
they are retaining information. Also by going around the
group and helping individuals out if need be.
f) Explain how you will elicit performance.
We will evoke performance by testing the people
before teaching some keys to performance improvement, and
measure the levels of improvement after teaching the
material.
g) Explain how you will provide feedback to
learners.
Providing feedback by asking the people directly how
they felt about the training and following up 3-6 months later and
see how they’re doing
5) Explain how you will design and develop the training
session to ensure transfer of training. Provide at least 2
strategies.
6) Describe how you will evaluate the training for each
level of Kirkpatrick's evaluation framework. You will explain the
evaluation of the training for Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, and Level
4. For level 4, include a detailed calculation of the Performance
Value/ROI for your training program.
answer for 5 and 6 please.
