Please help me write my essay! The country that I have chosen is
China. The topic is China's concern with prosperity. The main
example that I will use to illustrate this is the concept of
Xiconomics. I already have 3 sources set up for this paper. I used
them to make an annotated bibliography. However, the final paper
will not need an annotated bibliography, just a Works Cited page. I
will provide the annotated bibliography for my 3 sources down
below.
INSTRUCTIONS:
All countries have three primary goals of Prosperity, Security,
and Stability. Prosperity is about the economic health of the
country. Security is about threats from outside forces.
Stability is about threats and unrest inside the country.
You will submit a three (3) to five (5 ) page paper,
choosing ONE country and
providing ONE current (within the past
year) and relevant example that illustrates that country's concern
with one or more of the goals
above.
Questions that can guide your analysis include:
What problem is the country dealing with?
What actions has the country taken?
In what ways is the action meant to help with the country's
security, stability, and/or prosperity?
What are the pros and cons of their approach to solving the
problem? What are some of the unintended consequences of a
particular solution? What are some of the trade-offs that had to be
made?
Is the country's approach likely to achieve its end?
Every country deals with its unique problems in different ways.
In what ways is the solution undertaken a reflection of the
political culture of that country.
The final paper should be three (3) to five (5 ) pages using
double line spacing, with 1 inch (1") margins.
The paper must have proper documentation of all source material.
(This includes citations in the text and references on a
bibliography page.) For those not used to footnotes, endnotes,
parenthetical citation, etc., please refer to a writer's style
manual to assist you. Your citations and references should conform
to an accepted format.
As a general rule (and only a general rule), there ought to be
about 3 references per page of text. The final bibliography should
include a mix of books, journal articles, newspaper reports,
interviews, etc. Use of newspapers, news magazines, etc. will
likely make up the majority of your sources and can be used as
factual verification in describing your example and in reviewing
up-to-date statements by the government as well as public and
institutional reactions. Journal articles are those drawn from
academic periodicals.
Printed materials may be supplemented by electronic sources.
Citations for electronic sources should include the URL, the title
of the specific page of that site, the author (individual or group
where known), and the date. Current style manuals will also provide
examples of how to cite electronic materials.

Dou, Eva, and Christian Shepherd. "China Expected Robust
Economic Growth in 2022. It's Not Looking Good." MSN, 2022,
www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/china-e ... NewsSearch.
Dou and Shepherd's writing in this article explains why China's
economy has not been doing well, especially compared to how the
economy was predicted to grow. They write about many topics
including COVID 19, the Chinese President's reform agenda, and the
Ukraine crisis. This is an unbiased and reliable article that is
published in The Washington Post. Compared to the other sources,
this is the only one that is published through a news source in the
United States. This article is useful in writing the essay. It will
be used in order to portray the current state of China's economy
and the hardships that it has faced.
Qingyi, Su. "China's Economy Will Forge Ahead amid Challenges."
Chinadaily.com.cn, 2022,
global.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202203/24/WS623bad25a310fd2b29e52db3.html.
In this article, Qingyi not only explains the decline in China's
economy but also what China will have to do in order to get back on
track. Qingyi writes about what is affecting the economy and,
furthermore, how it is affecting the country's overall well-being.
He offers educated and fact-based advice for China on how it can
stabilize its foreign trade policy and strengthen the supply chains
of different industries. This source is objective. However, it is
important to consider that this source is also from a Chinese news
source. This could be helpful because the author has first-hand
experience. On the other hand, China's news is often known for
being restricted, so there may not be all the information that is
needed in this article. This source will be useful in writing
because the solutions given will be used to compare the different
strategies that China could use in order to gain more prosperity
for their country.
Yisheng, Zhang, et al. "Xiconomics: Why China's Vision for
Development Can Help Promote Global Prosperity."
_英语频道_央视网(Cctv.com), 2022,
english.cctv.com/2022/03/23/ARTIktocuZNlOzEGJ7J6iHto220323.shtml.
Zhang Yisheng, Xu Chao, and Liu Yifang's writing in this article
explains China's plan for development and how it could positively
affect different countries across the globe. They describe
"Xiconomics", which is the economic philosophy of the Chinese
President. Topics such as common prosperity, joint contribution,
shared benefits, and shared future are included in the President's
plan and are thoroughly explained in this article. This source is
also published through a Chinese news source, so I will take the
same apprehensions as explained in my second source. This article
seems to think positively of this plan and of China in general, so
it is important to make sure that there will be other sources
included in this essay that reflect opposing or neutral views.
However, it is particularly helpful that this source is
pro-Xiconomics because it will be used in order to weigh the pros
and cons of China's plan for prosperity.
