What would you do? Questions- 5 marks each Case #8
Joanne has been hired as a senior manager with a national
company. As such, she is required to sign an employment contract.
She is presented with a contract which obliges her to waive her
common law rights and stipulates that, in the event of a dismissal
of any type, whether wrongful or with cause, that her payment in
lieu of notice would be limited to the BC Employment Standards
Act.
If you were Joanne, would you sign this contract? Why or why
