Coware Berhad incurred the following research & development costs during 2022: Salaries and wages for lab research RM 400.000 Materials used in R&D project 200.000 Purchase of equipment 900.000 Fees paid to outsiders for R&D project 320.000 Patent filing and legal costs for a developed product 65,000 Total 1,885,000 "The expenditure is incurred evenly throughout the year. The equipment has a seven-year life and will be used for a number of research projects. Depreciation for the 12 months of 2022 is RM120.000. Coware Berhad is able to demonstrate the economic viability of project on 30 September 2022. Required: Calculate the amount of research and development expense and asset the Coware should report in its 2022 income statement.
