A shaft system consists two discs with out of balance masses at planes A and B as shown in Figure Q5(b) overleaf. The masses are located at the following radii: = ma = 3 kg; ra = 80 mm me = 2 kg; r = 120 mm = = Masses mm and my are to be placed at planes M and N respectively to produce static and dynamic balance of the shaft system. Using graphical analysis, determine the magnitudes and orientations of the masses mm and mn to be placed in two planes at radial distances rm=50 mm in plane M and rn=90 mm in plane N respectively.
