100 ml >IK Fig. 1 Apparatus . • Power Supply • Multimeter Signal Generator Oscilloscope Breadboard • Resistors, capacitors and inductors • Personal Computer . I Procedure 1. Connect the circuit shown in Fig. 1 on the breadboard. 2. Display the voltage across the load on channel one, and the voltage across the resistor on channel two of the oscilloscope. Note the current through the load is the voltage across the resistor divided by the value of the resistor. Measure the average power across the load. Compare these results with the ones obtained in the prelab. 3. Measure the instantaneous power when the voltage across the load is maximum Compare these results with the ones obtained in the prelab. 4. Measure the power factor of the load, and compare it with the result obtained in the prelab 5. Connect a capacitor C=22 F in parallel with the load. Measure the new power factor Comment on the result. 6. For the Circuit in Fig. 1, use the circuit simulator to find the instantaneous power, the average power, and the power factor of the load. 7. After connecting the capacitor in parallel with the load, use the simulator to find the new power factor 8. Compare the simulation results with the analytical (from prelab) and experimental results
