It is desired to construct a vertical cylindrical steel tank as shown in the following figure. The tank is open at top, and it is known that while the thickness of side is 2t, the thickness of bottom is 3t. Since a large number of tanks of different volume are to be constructed, the designer wants to determine whether there is an optimal shape (diameter to height ratio) that all the tanks should have. Assume that the weight of material used represents total cost of the tank. h o D
