Problem: Using the graphics provided, perform a quantity take-off for the steel required. The column schedule is provided below. All beam spans are 24 feet. The building uses a concrete on steel deck flooring system for all the elevated slabs. The 28-gauge steel deck is penetrated by a 12 foot by 8 foot stairwell and two 8 foot by 10 foot elevator shafts on floors 2-5. The floors are support by 14K3 open web joists that are 4 feet on-center. The roof is supported by 12K3 open web joists that are also 4 feet on-center. Column Schedule Floor 1 WIO X 112 Floor 2 WIO X 89 Floor 3 WIO X 72 Floor 4 WIO X 60 Floor 5 W10 x 60 Column Five-story building W14 x 125 Typical floor plan Sth Floor > 60 Front elevation Side clevation Provide the take-off on an Excel spreadsheet. The take-off should cover the entire building and the results should be in tons of structural steel, linear feet of joists and square feet of decking required. The spreadsheet should not be a recap of a hand-done take-off, do not use a calculator. It should include all the equations and links necessary to make the calculations by inserting dimensions in specific boxes. Submit the spreadsheet on Blackboard when completed.
