ENG 114 EDM ASSIGNMENT Below, you can see 6 problems that people encounter every day. 1) Choose one of the problems and design a solution for that problem. 2) Follow the Engineering Design Process (the article) while designing your solution. 3) After finding and designing the solution, draw it using Tinker Cad. 4) Prepare a 3-minute-long presentation (PPT, Prezi, Canva, etc) explaining your solution and your design, and get prepared to present it in the class. 1) Waterproof Bicycle Every day, you go to school by your bike. However, there is a problem. You are not able to ride your bike during rainy days because you get wet. Design something for your bike to protect you from rain during cycling. 2) Recycling Bins You see that in the streets the recycling bins are not used properly. One problem is they are always full and everywhere becomes trash, and the other problem is people do not use them properly; they throw glass in paper bins and they throw plastics in glass bins. You want to design something so that those bins can be used properly. 3) Serving Tropical Fruit You like eating pineapple, coconut or avocado. However, it feels like torture to prepare them for serving. Cracking the coconut is almost impossible, or removing the pits of avocado without smashing and getting your hand dirty is very difficult. So, what would you design to make that process very easy? 4) Folding Laundry It is good to have clean clothes after laundry. But how do you feel when it is time to fold that big pile of clothes? It would be nice to have a gadget to do it for you. So, design something to fold your clothes instead of you. 5) Toilet Paper You are in the toilet and you realize that toilet paper is run out. You can't obviously get up and get a new paper. Design something so that this won't be a problem for you.
