A population is a group of people that live in a specific area
during a certain period of time. Every population has their
different needs, but ultimately the health of everyone is
important. We all grow up and see different environments in our
lives and these environments affect how we view health and various
behaviors. Some populations may not have the best standards of
health while others do, because of this it changes how a nurse
cares for the individual. I believe this will affect my own
practice because it will allow me to not only use ideas that I have
witnessed while learning, but it will also allow me to give sources
or ideas that I have seen to be beneficial. In addition,
understanding how the patient lives and what is around their
environment will also help my practice because it will help with
determining the best way to approach their care.
