A horizontal pipe at ground level, of diameter 8.6 cm has water
flowing in it at a speed 3.5 m/s at a pressure 3.4 x
105 N/m2. When the pipe reaches a
building, it turns upwards and becomes vertical, reaches the top of
the building and then again turns and becomes horizontal on top of
the roof of the building. The height of the roof is 5.3 m above the
ground. The pipe diameter does not change. Calculate the
pressure of water in the section of pipe that is on top of the
roof. Density of water = 1000 kg/m3. Write your answer
in terms of x105 N/m2 (i.e. if your
answer is 2.34 x 105 N/m2, write only
2.34)
