In an experiment to determine the concentration of a sodium thiosulphate, Na2 S2O3 solution, Amina performed the following: - A standard solution was prepared by dissolving 0.7480 g of potassium iodate, KIO3, in a 250.0 mL volumetric flask. - 27 mL of a stock solution of Na2 S2O3 was diluted in a 150 mL volumetric flask. - 25.0 mL of diluted Na2 S2O3 was titrated against KIO3 solution, [and 20.8 mL of KIO3 was required to reach the end-point. The equations for the titration are as follows: IO3−+5I−+6H+→3I2+3H2OI2+2 S2O32−→2I−→S4O62− (a) Calculate the mole ratio between iodate ions and thiosulphate ions. (3 marks)
