Writing an introduction: - Provide an overview of the background information necessary to understand the significance of your project's synthesis. - How does this synthesis/product connect with everyday life. Why is it important to society to have an optimal synthesis for your topic molecule? - Provide a balanced chemical reaction and mechanism for the reaction. Briefly summarize a mechanism creating the product. - A synthetic scientific article will be needed. Be sure to cite any sources used. - Describe the theories behind any method used in a synthesis to create this molecule. (reactions, techniques, instrumentation, etc.). - For example, if distillation could be used to purify your product, why is that the separation technique of choice? What principles make that technique best suited for your synthesis? - Is the product easiest to identify by GC, TLC, IR, or NMR?
