If a magnetic field of 1.0 T is applied perpendicular to the electric field such that an electron with a particular velocity moves in a straight line parallel to the two plates at a constant velocity (i.e. moves perpendicular to both fields without any change in its speed or direction), (i) what is the net force acting on the electron and (ii) what is the magnitude of its velocity?
