The backfill used in the construction of the retaining wall has expansive behaviour. These materials swell significantly when in contact with water during rainfall and floods, resulting in large lateral pressure on the retaining wall. As a geotechnical engineer, propose TWO (2) methods to maintain the stability of the retaining wall.
