(a) Discuss any two practical approaches that can be used to minimize the effect of flood that would probably occur within a catchment area. (b) The unit hydrograph is a simple linear model that can be used to derive the hydrograph resulting from any amount of effective rainfall. Provide three assumptions for such statement to be valid. (c) The excess rainfall and direct runoff records resulting from a 2-hr storm event on a watershed are shown in Table Q4.
