Question 5 A concrete rectangular channel (n=0.022) has a bed slope of 0.3∘ and carries 30 m3/s of water. The water enters a reservoir so that the channel depth is 3−m just before the entry. Assuming gradually varied flow, determine: (a) the water surface profile type [8 marks] (b) the distance from the point of entry to the point where the flow depth is 2−m. [17 marks ] For accuracy purposes, use Δy=0.125 m
