Problem #1: For Problem #5.7 from Taly, determine the velocity pressures, qz, at points D,E, and F. Topography is homogenous. Do not address items (a) - (d) in the problem at this time. Problem #2: Rework Problem #5.7 from Taly, but this time use data corresponding to Ft. Lauderdale International Airport for your analysis. Problem #3: Determine the velocity pressures, qz, at floor levels, roof levels, and at the top of parapet for a residential structure in Denver, CO. The first story has a height of 14 '-6" the next eight stories each has a height of 11 '-9", the 10th story has a height of 12′−6 ", and the roof parapet is 3'-0" high. (The roof is at an elevation of z=121′−0 ".) Assume Exposure Category B. Use an appropriate value of Ke, do not take Ke=1.00. Use the equations in Footnote 1 of ASCE 7-16 Table 26.10-1 to determine Kz. Spreadsheet solutions for Problem #3 are encouraged.
