The cantilever beam is subjected to a concentrated load of P=32 kips. The cross-sectional dimensions of the wide-flange shape are shown in the second figure. Assume yH​=5 in., yK​=2.4 in., d=15.8 in., tw​=0.299 in., tf​=0.304 in., bf​=7.37 in. Determine: (a) the shear stress τH​ at point H, which is located 5 in. below the centroid of the wide-flange shape. (b) the maximum horizontal shear stress τmax​ in the wide-flange shape. Answers: (a) τH​= ksi. (b) τmax​= ksi.
