Question 5. Cold work, tensile strength, and ductility (10 pts total) (a) Assume you have a cylindrical rod of unworked Brass that follows that behavior shown in the figures below. The cylindrical brass rod is initially 25 mm in diameter and 240 mm in length. You have a set of drawing dies for cold working with the following diameters: 18 mm,14 mm,10 mm, and 8 mm. You also have a furnace on hand. You would like to draw the rod for achieving a tensile strength as close to 500MPa as possible. Which die should you use? (8 pts) NOTE: No points for a lucky guess.
