In a discussion with fellow engineers about vibrations, someone states that everything that you need to know in vibration investigations can be calculated using Runge-Kutta numerical integration (MATLAB ode45 or similar) of the governing differential Equation of Motion. How do you defend that statement? How do you refute that statement?
