The system shown is made up of two arrows/axis of
diameter 𝒅𝟏 𝑦 𝒅𝟐, of the same material (𝑮 = 𝟕𝟕, 𝟐 𝑮𝑷𝒂) and is
connected by gears. Endpoint 𝐷 is attached
rigidly to the wall.
If a load 𝑻𝑨 = 1.50 kNm is applied at point
𝐴.
Determine:
a) The maximum shear stress due to torsion in each
of the arrows (given in MPA).
b) The angle of twist of end A (given in degrees).
Knowing that: 𝑑1 = 42.00mm ; 𝑑2 = 1.5𝑑
