Give all your answers correct to 4 d.p. Part of a power system is illustrated in the figure below. Two synchronous generators are connected in parallel to the same 11 kV bus-bars (G1: 5 MVA, 0.1 pu: G2: 10 MVA, 0.15 pu). The feeder has reactance of 0.1 km and is 30 km long. Select the common power base as 200 MVA GI Feeder 1-19 G2
Part a) Determine the generator (X.) per unit reactance for the given common power base: pu X;' = Number Xx' = Number pu Calculate the per-unit and absolute values of the fault level and fault current if a three-phase short circuit takes place on the 11 kV bus-bars (point 1 in the figure above): isc = Number p.u. Ssc = Number p.u. Isc = Number KA Ssc = Number MVA
Part B) Calculate the feeder per unit reactance (using the base voltage a nd base power of 11 KV and 200 MVA): Xc = Number p.u. Calculate the per-unit and absolute values of the fault level and fault current if a three-phase short circuit takes place at the end of the feeder (point 2 in the figure above): Isc = Number p.u. Ssc = Number p.u. Iso = Number ΚΑ Sc = Number MVA
